Massachusetts Port Authority
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) is an independent public authority responsible for major aviation and maritime facilities in Massachusetts. Massport operates Boston Logan International Airport, Worcester Regional Airport, Hanscom Field, Conley Container Terminal, and Flynn Cruiseport Boston, while also managing transportation access and real estate assets associated with these facilities. Its mission includes supporting regional economic activity while improving safety, mobility, sustainability, and connections between Massachusetts and domestic and international markets.
The MIT Transit Lab has collaborated with the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) on research related to transportation access, airport operations, and the interaction between major transportation facilities and the broader regional mobility system. The partnership has supported data-driven analysis of how passengers and employees access Logan Airport and how operational, infrastructure, and policy changes can improve efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability.
